The Enemy of Engagement: Put an End to Workplace Frustration -- and Get the Most from Your Employees
Event Details & Agenda:
In challenging economic times, when most organizations are struggling to do more with less, leaders can’t afford to squander any resource – including employee motivation.
There are a lot of frustrated people in most workplaces today. We’re not talking about the incorrigible office grump or the permanent slacker. Instead, we’re referring to dedicated workers who are being prevented from achieving their peak potential by organizational obstacles. What’s the missing piece? To borrow a line made popular by the movie Jerry Maguire, frustrated employees seem to be saying to organizational leaders: “Help me help you.” In other words: “Put us in roles that utilize our skills and abilities and allow us to do what we do best. Give us the tools, technology, information, support, and other resources we need to be effective. And, finally, get out of our way! Don’t introduce procedural barriers that will interfere with our ability to get things done. And don’t dilute our focus and consume our energy with tasks that don’t add value.”
